Dear Parents
Happy New Year!!
I would like to wish everyone a very happy and peaceful 2004. We will be holding our Parent/Teacher Evenings
this term and look forward to discussing your childs progress with you. Additionally we will have our information
sessions for the parents of children in Year 2 and Year 6 about the national tests they will be doing in the
summer. Please do come to these important meetings.
We look forward to seeing you.
Yours sincerely
V E CAMPBELL
Headteacher
Thank You
Many parents seemed to enjoy both our Infant Nativity and the Carol Service at St. John's Church. The children
were excellent and a credit to the school. Your generosity reflected the spirit of Christmas as we were able to
raise £168 for 'Children In Need' and £265 for Cancer Research.
Thank You!
Earlier in the year we completed our Superschools event. Having received the sponsor money £974
was raised to support up-and-coming athletes. A further £1461 was collected to support
school projects. A proportion will be used to support the PTFA initiative to purchase large play equipment for
Years 2 6.
Update of Information
Could we please remind parents that it is important that we are kept up-to-date with essential information. If
you have changed address or telephone number (this happens more frequently with mobile phones!) please be sure
to let the school office have that information. This is particularly important when a child is ill and we need
to contact you. Also, can you please let us know if your child requires any particular medication, e.g. an Epi-pen
for a nut allergy or an Asthma inhaler.
Our School Nurse has asked us to include her number should you
wish to contact her about any concerns or advice:
Kate Hutchins, Youth Advisory Service, Silver Street, Yeovil.
Telephone: (01935) 413930
Emergency Procedures Extreme Weather
With the onset of the colder weather, we would like to remind you of our emergency contact numbers in the unlikely
event of school closure. The school office will be manned from 8.00 am to 10.00 am and from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm
on Yeovil 474984. Particular thanks to those who have offered additional contact numbers:

| Classes 7 - 10 |

(95.5 FM), Somerset Sound (1323 MW) and Ivel FM (105.6 FM).
Curriculum Information
As you will be aware, every term we enclose a Curriculum Information Sheet which summarises the topics your child
will cover this year. It also identifies times for P.E. activities and homework routines. I am sure you will find
if useful to support your child with their education.
